1976 Vox AC50

This is a fine example of a 1976 Vox AC50 amplifier in excellent condition.  This amp was built in the UK and completely point to point hand wired.  The cabinets for both the head and speaker are made from Baltic birch plywood with high quality workmanship throughout.  The chassis and electrical components are in great condition and the amp has brand new Tung Sol tubes installed.  A modern safety power cord has been installed as well.  At some point, a 15 inch EV speaker was professionally mounted to the baffle board which greatly improved the efficiency of the speaker cabinet over the original 18 inch speaker. The inside of the speaker cabinet has also been insulated to help with bass response.  The amp has two channels; Normal for bass instruments and Brilliant for guitars.  Vox basketweave vinyl is used for the covering, Vox fretcloth is used for the head and speaker cabinets. The handle for the head is the ‘dog-bone’ style molded with Vox logo.  The speaker cabinet has two well placed recess handles. The head cabinet has the gold Vox logo, the speaker cabinet has the vertical Vox logo and Foundation Bass flag.  Both cabinets have the plastic ‘two pin’ corner protectors.
